SAYOWE Festival

In November of 2003 international consultant and music producer Gene Aitken brought to LMP producer Jim Linahon over 12 hours of recorded concerts from the Southeast Asia Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble Festival (SAYOWE) held in October in Bangkok, Thailand.   Gene was responsible for the Inaugural Festival and served as both creative consultant and co-director.

This festival was sponsored in part by His Majesty the King of Thailand and the Government of Thailand.   It represented the first Southeast Asia Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble combined festival in the history of Asia.

Auditioned musical students from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam joined Conductors, Soloists, and Artist/Faculty from Austria, Japan, Latvia, Norway, Singapore, Thailand and the United States in presenting a weeklong festival of concert programs, rehearsals, seminars and workshops in the City of Bangkok.

The two CD's of the SAYOWE Festival were recorded at the Thailand Cultural Center in Bangkok in October of 2003.   The SAYOWE Wind Ensemble conducted by Eugene Migliaro Corporon featured Euphonium Brass Soloist Brian Bowman , and the SAYOWE Orchestra conducted by Russell Guyver featured Violin Soloist Vilde Frang . Sold out concerts and outstanding press coverage helped make the festival a huge success.

With LMP Studios still under construction, Jim and Gene spent four days at Westlake Studios in Los Angeles mixing the SAYOWE concerts and the results were two outstanding internationally recognized CD's!
